Where To Start With Reverb (Beginners Guide to Reverb)

Are you struggling with getting started with reverb in your mixes? Reverb can be tricky to get right and to get it sounding natural. It can also be difficult to understand how to shape your reverbs to achieve the sort of ambiance that you’re aiming for. I’m going to demystify reverb for you and explain how to use it in a mix.

The video is split into three parts –

Firstly, I’m going to briefly go over what reverb is and what it’s used for.

Next, I’ll explain all of the most common parameters of a reverb plugin (e.g. type, time, pre-delay, early reflections, size etc.). When you first start using reverb, it can feel like there’s a lot of jargon that you need to learn. Once you get your head around the basic settings though, it will become second nature.

And finally, I’ll show you how to use reverb in a mix to achieve the sound that you’re after.
