Get Stereo Balance in Your Mixes with Complimentary Panning (Stereo Mixing Tips)

If you could only use two tools to mix a song, I suggest faders, to get levels balanced and pan pots for stereo balance – that’s how vital panning is to your mixes.

Out of the five mixing domains that we’re working in, that’s level, stereo, frequency, time and depth, your pan pots are almost exclusively what you’ll be using to achieve balance in the stereo domain.

In this video, I’ll be sharing some stereo mixing tips and explaining how to achieve stereo balance by using a technique called ‘complimentary panning’.
